| dc.description.abstract | SUMMARY It has been verified that prosocial behavior in children increases through the implementation of positive parenting practices in the family context, so the present study aims to determine the effectiveness of a positive parenting intervention program, aimed at parents to increase prosocial behavior in adolescents. Six parents (five female and one male), with an age range of 30 to 50 years, participated in the study. Five students also participated, public high school students in the Municipality of Toluca, with an age range of 12-15 years, four of them are male (80% of the total), and one female (20% of the total of students). A quantitative investigation was carried out, with an experimental design A-B-A. To measure the variables of the study, two instruments were applied. For the first variable of the study, the checklist "Honesty sheet" was used, which records daily the prosocial behaviors shown in the family environment. For the second study variable, the Parenting Styles Questionnaire instrument (index α = .85) that evaluates the parenting styles used by parents. The results indicate that adolescents showed an increase in the use of prosocial behaviors in their daily life, while parents stopped using ineffective parenting practices with their children. Finally, the effectiveness of the intervention program with parents is demonstrated. | es |
