dc.description.abstract | Parental care is a complex phenomenon that is not limited to humans. Several species distributed in all ver-tebrate taxa have shown some level of parental care at different times in the development of their offspring; however, these actions, which in themselves have repercussions on parental fitness, are interrupted, and even impeded, by human activity. This has been evaluated on several occasions and it has been observed that the effect they have on parental behavior can be so drastic that even extreme events (e.g. the Chernobyl disaster or the sars-cov-2 pandemic) that modify human activities are not enough to significantly restore them. | es |
