Resumen:
This research comes to be when some difficulties are observed and found in the development of the ability for oral production and expression in the English language. The problem lies in several points, both external and internal to the student, regarding the student’s primary interests. The structure of the English course for intermediate level students, work tools and materials required by the school’s administration, as well as the evaluation of skills and the student’s academic context are provided as general points. These guidelines place the student in a position that does not match their academic interests, said reasons lead the student to deem the subject’s priorities as secondary. The biggest challenge the students face comes at the end of their midterms and, mostly, when they must sit an oral examination at the end of the course, and the development of their Speaking skills is not up to the level required by the administration. It should be noted that this is not a particular case of a group. This kind of struggles come at the time of the end-of-term presentations in distinct levels.
