Resumen:
We provide the first records of osteomyelitis in carapace of nesting female turtles of Lepidochelys olivacea at La Escobilla Sanctuary, Mexico. Osteomyelitis is an infectious and inflammatory disorder of cortical bone, periostio and myeloid cavity, characterized by necrosis and destruction of bone tissue. Until now, there were no records of this infectious bone disorder in tropical waters affecting olive ridley turtles (L. olivacea).
