Resumen:
As part of an initiative to mitigate transportation
congestion of more than 230,000 daily travellers between Mexico
City and Mexico State, the Mexican Federal Government,
through the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation,
began the construction of the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train
in January 2015. In this paper, an exhaustive analysis of the
train infrastructure in an event of a high-magnitude earthquake
is carried out. For that, a scenario of a large earthquake in
which the train moves at high speed transporting passengers is
considered. Specifically, we analyse the structure behaviour when
it is exposed to an earthquake comparable in magnitude to those
experienced on September 19th 1985, in Mexico, and May 22nd
1960, in Chile.
Preliminary results confirm the useful of data science techniques
for the study, and offer a comprehensive analysis of
the train structural integrity under earthquake conditions via
simulations conducted using the SAP 2000 software.
